Albany Medical Review - January 2002

From the Program Director

I am delighted to be writing this introductory piece for the second web issue of the AMR.

Our "web debut" issue was a huge success and we look forward to many more electronic editions of our program’s own journal. We have a very dedicated editorial staff and completion of residents’ assignments has been going better (this is a plug to get your assignments in on time!). Let’s keep the momentum going and continue to turn out high quality and timely issues.

Recruitment is in high swing and we still have quite a few candidates to come through. Many thanks to those of you who have helped out with tours and luncheons. The candidates really appreciate the time with you and, frankly, I consider it the most valuable time they spend on their interview day. We are fortunate to have several Albany Medical students who are highly interested in our 3 year IM program. Many of them cite the very positive experiences they have had on their third and fourth year Medicine rotations. In a large part, these positive experiences are because of YOU. Our residents are dedicated and happy in our program and this comes through in your teaching and interactions with our students — keep up the good work!
