About Our Program

As a medium-sized program, we pride ourselves on our unique educational experiences and our agility and responsiveness to our residents’ personal and professional goals. Beyond ensuring that every resident gets the personal attention they need, we offer robust and powerful extra-clinical training opportunities. The PedSTAR™ (Scholarly Track for Advocacy and Research) block offers each intern four weeks free from clinical duties during which they receive immersive training in advocacy project development, research design and publication, and quality improvement/patient safety initiatives.

Each intern receives longitudinal faculty mentorship to bring their project to fruition by the end of residency. Our alumni have a proven track record of success with approximately half of our graduates pursuing general pediatrics or hospitalist medicine, while the other half pursue fellowships at major centers around the country. Our program is seeking 11 applicants who value teamwork and independent critical thinking, and are passionate about children’s health.

Please take a look at the important work that we do at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital.
