Financial Aid
Your education is a significant investment. Paying for it is possible when you apply and qualify for financial aid. The Financial Aid Office exists to provide information about budgeting with financial aid, and information about grants, loans and other assistance from a variety of sources.
Your cost of attendance rests with you and your family. Financial Aid provides the difference between what you are expected to pay and the actual cost of attendance. Prudent management is the key to your financial survival. You must plan, budget and read the financial assistance materials that we provide. Proof of coverage must be presented at the Student Health Office prior to the beginning of classes. Students who are unable to provide proof of coverage will be enrolled in a college-approved program with the costs added to their tuition.
Tuition and Fees The Board of Trustees reserves the right to change tuition and fees and to amend financial policies and regulations. The Board's authority extends to present and future students of the College.
A Tuition Policy Advisory Committee appointed by the Board of Trustees, consisting of students, faculty and Committee representatives, has recommended that the most equitable and least burdensome method for implementing necessary increases in tuition is a predictable, planned and well-communicated increase in tuition for each student each year. Because the College depends upon timely payment of tuition and fees the policy on nonpayment of accounts, set forth below, must be followed: Official letters of recommendation and certification must indicate the status of the student. Refund Policy Students who are granted a Leave of Absence for documented medical reasons (and who do not receive a refund of tuition charges) will not be charged to repeat courses for which they have previously paid. Students will be charged for any repeated course work for which they have received a tuition refund. The Director of Financial Aid determines the Tuition Refund and Repayment Distribution amounts upon proper determination of a student's last date of attendance. The formula used to determine the amount of the refund is available for review and on file in the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Office ensures timely return of funds to the Federal programs and/or the student. The Financial Aid Office is located in the Administration Building in room 214. The phone number is (518) 262-5435.
