Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition - Annual tuition for full-time students in the basic sciences is $18,096. However, financial aid to cover the cost of tuition is available to all doctoral and masters students in the basic sciences by way of Trustee Tuition Scholarships. For part-time and non-matriculated students, tuition is $603 per credit hour. Tuition and fees are due at the time of registration for the semester.

Tuition for students in the Center for Nurse Anesthesiology is $11,000 per semester or $44,000 for the 28-month degree program.  Tuition for students in the Center for Physician Assistant Studies is $6,240 per term for seven terms totaling $43,680 for the 28-month program. Tuition and fees are due at the time of registration for the semester.

Tuition Refund Policy - Albany Medical College's Tuition Refund Policy conforms to the Federal Education Department's requirements that students who withdraw prior to completing 60 percent of any period of enrollment be refunded a percentage of their tuition charge. If a student withdraws from a course before the start of classes up to the first day of classes, 100 percent of tuition will be refunded. After the first day of class, but before the end of 10 percent of the term 90 percent of tuition will be refunded; after 10 percent of term and before the end of 25 percent of the term 50 percent of tuition will be refunded; after 25 percent of the term and before the end of 50 percent of the term 25 percent of the tuition will be refunded. After 60 percent of the term there will be no tuition refund. If a valid health or emergency reason exists, the Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, after consulting with the Course Director, may grant an exception.

Financial Aid - Doctoral stipends are $23,000 and are available to qualified doctoral students during their first three years of study in the form of a Predoctoral Research Assistantship. After the third year of study, stipend support must be provided from extramural funds, most notably NIH research or NIH training grants.  Stipends provided by Research Assistantships and Research Fellowships are available to qualified doctoral students and are awarded competitively. Other financial assistance may be arranged through the Center to which the student has applied and through the Albany Medical College Office of Financial Aid (518) 262-5435.
