Rima Abraham (L) Nora Perkins (R)

Congratulations on your choice in a career in Otolaryngology. It doesn’t seem like too long ago that we were in your position, deciding to become Otolaryngologists, and then trying to figure out where to do our residencies! Although we may be biased, we agree that our decision to train at Albany Medical College was right. The Albany Medical Center residency promotes a gradual progression of responsibility and autonomy, which allows the residents to develop into confident, responsible, and capable clinicians and surgeons. Whether your future interests involve further fellowship training, or going out into practice, this residency will prepare you well for either endeavor. Our experience is diverse and we are fortunate to have a wide variety of fellowship-trained attendings to mentor us in every aspect of our field. The residents are a close-knit group of people and we often enjoy the local activities together. There is a lot to do in and around Albany, so when we’re not working we manage to go on hikes in the beautiful Adirondacks, relax on one of the local lakes, spend a day at the race track (cheering for one of Dr. Parnes’ horses) and attend or participate in sporting events. Albany is a very affordable city which offers excellent opportunities in education, recreation and the arts.

Good luck in your choices and we hope to see you during interviews!
