II am very excited to introduce you to our Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at Albany Medical Center. Our program has been training residents for over 30 years! We have successfully maintained the reputation throughout Albany Medical Center for having outstanding residents. We are proud to have an established, thriving program that has the flexibility to provide individual trainees with the learning experiences they desire to fulfill their career goals.
Our residents enjoy a nice balance of work and play. They get the hands-on experience that they need as well as time to read. We expect that our future residents will be hardworking, dedicated and have a love of learning that is evident with our current trainees.
Since joining the Albany Med faculty in 2006, I have been nothing but impressed by my Med/Peds colleagues. Their dedication to medical education is commendable. In addition to precepting our residents and maintaining their own patient practices, our faculty members contribute to both the hospital and the Medical College.
Our practice is a NCQA 3 certified primary care site serving as the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) to our 8 full time ambulatory faculty, 16 residents and over 12,000 patients. The residency PCMH includes dedicated nursing and administrative support staff to help promote continuity of care and foster better provider/patient communication. We have a direct observation suite allowing for timely feedback for our residents on their clinical skills, an onsite lab facility and a conference room used for our monthly Resident Education Days (REDD). These sessions offer protected teaching time for our Med/Peds specific ambulatory curriculum, journal clubs, board review, and much, much more! With our newly established Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship , we're able to collaborate our efforts with focused musculoskeletal exam and Sports Medicine workshops.
As for me, moving to the Capital District has meant getting reacquainted with skiing, watching my puppies frolic in the snow, and building snowmen with my kids. We look forward to Tulip Festival in the spring, concerts and horse racing in Saratoga in the summer, and Lark Fest in the fall. As a Med/Peds family, I couldn't ask for a more fun, dedicated, and inspiring group of people to choose to spend my weekdays with as well as my weekends!!! I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to my Med/Peds family!
