EMS Outreach

As part of Albany Medical Center's commitment to community education, the Department of Emergency Medicine provides continuing education and regular communication to local emergency medical services personnel. The Office of Emergency Medicine Outreach offers numerous programs for prehospital professionals of all levels. We provide lectures taught by emergency department physicians and other experts on the field on the second Tuesday and third Wednesday of each month. These lectures can be attended in person or through videoconferencing in order to meet the annual continuing education requirements. We also offer several national courses including Pediatric Education for the Prehospital Professional (PEPP), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), and Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), which are provided at Albany Medical Center and within the community. In addition, we have a yearly winter EMS conference. Finally, we bring other national speakers and courses to our region as often as possible to assist our community in being the most educated and prepared that they can possibly be. If you have a need for a course or would like to sponsor a course at your department, please contact us.
