Albany Med's Cancer Survival Rates Better than the National Average
Albany Medical Center's cancer survival rates in more than half of the categories tracked by the National Cancer Institute are better than the national norm. Across the board in 12 of 22 categories, patients treated at the Albany Medical Center had improved survival rates when compared to the average at hospitals throughout the country during the most recent period assessed (1995-2001). Particularly outstanding survival rates were recorded in pancreatic, esophageal, and lung and bronchial cancers.
