Dr. Shankar Das is fellowship-trained in sports medicine with a focus on shoulder and knee injuries and is also a regional expert in hip arthroscopy. He performs numerous athroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction procedures each year. He trained in sports medicine at the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, where he treated professional athletes from the Lakers, Dodgers and Kings.
Dr. Das tends to a variety of cases: “My practice ranges from children to elderly patients.” He is a team physician for UAlbany, Tri-City Valley Cats, Albany River Rats, and Guilderland High School. “My children are very active in sports, so I really enjoy treating athletes and helping them return to the sports they love.”
