Dr. Malcolm Z. Roth is Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Roth is currently President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS); the world's largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons and foremost authority on cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
As Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Roth oversees clinical and research service activities and residency training. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, body, face and hand. His special interests include cosmetic surgery, breast reconstruction and body contouring following significant weight loss.
A native of Long Island, Dr. Roth previously served as Director of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center and at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn. In addition to serving as ASPS President, Dr. Roth has served on many committees and has been Chair of the Government Affairs Committee and Vice President of Health Policy and Advocacy. He has also held numerous leadership positions in professional societies, including President of the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons, President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand, President of the New York County Medical Society and Chair of the Plastic Surgery Section of the New York Academy of Medicine.
