The Albany Med Flight helicopter program works cooperatively with Albany Medical Center's Neonatal Transport Team to provide:

  • Emergent transport of critically ill newborn infants
  • A skilled neonatal resuscitation team
  • A state of the art medically devoted helicopter
  • Dedicated specially equipped pediatric tranport ambulance/van

Transport Team Members:

  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner / Neonatal Transport Nurses
  • NICU Respiratory Therapist
  • Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic

Obstetrical Transport

Most obstetrical patients are transported via ground ambulance. The Albany Med Flight helicopter program will provide:

  • Emergent transport of critically ill obstetrical patients who are unable to tolerate ground transportation
  • A specially trained Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic
