Perinatal Outreach Program - Transport Services


Neonatal Transport
The Albany Med Flight helicopter program works cooperatively with Albany Medical Center's Neonatal Transport Team to provide:

  • Emergent transport of critically ill newborn infants.
  • A skilled neonatal resuscitation team.
  • A state of the art medically devoted helicopter.
  • Dedicated specially equipped pediatric transport ambulance/van.

Transport Team Members:

  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner / Neonatal Transport Nurses.
  • NICU Respiratory Therapist.
  • Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic.

Obstetrical Transport
Most obstetrical patients are transported via ground ambulance. The Albany Med Flight helicopter program will provide:

  • Emergent transport of critically ill obstetrical patients who are unable to tolerate ground transportation.
  • A specially trained Flight Nurse or Flight Paramedic.
