Shannon E. Thompson, MS, RPA
Ms. Thompson received her BS in biology from SUNY Albany and her MS in exercise physiology from UMass Amherst. In August 2004, she earned her physician assistant certificate from the Albany Medical College/Hudson Valley Physician Assistant program.
Ms. Thompson joined the Division of Endocrinology in September 2004. Initially her role at Albany Medical Center was to provide medical management and education for people with diabetes while they were hospitalized. In early 2007, she began providing medical management to outpatients.
Ms. Thompson is working towards certification in diabetes education. Special interests include insulin pump therapy and exercise as a management tool in diabetes.
