Ruth Breunig, BS, RN, CDE
Ms. Breunig graduated from the Albany Medical Center School of Nursing and received her BS in Health Education from Russell Sage College. She has been a registered nurse for over 25 years and is a certified diabetes educator.
She has worked at Albany Medical Center since 1976 and with the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism since 1994. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association and American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has served on the Board and as an officer of the Northeastern New York Diabetes Educators, and is an active member of the Albany County Tobacco Free Coalition.
Ms. Breunig is a diabetes nurse educator with the Division, counseling patients with diabetes to help them achieve optimal control of their diabetes and prevent complications of the disease. She has a special interest in assisting patients with smoking cessation.
