Albany Med Doctor Identifies Rare Local Case of Tick Paralysis
A 2-year old girl suffering from a worsening onset of paralysis was cured this month by Albany Medical Center physician Dr. Karen Powers who recognized the girl’s rare condition (tick paralysis) from a case she had observed only once during her training more than five years ago. The story was unveiled today at a news conference with the girl and her mother, Dr. Powers and Dr. Robert Santos.
