Our Services


The Maternal Child Adolescent Treatment Services (MCATS) program at Albany Medical Center serves children and adolescents from birth to age 24. Support services available include adherence assistance, nutritional assessments and guidance, mental health assessments and counseling, developmental/cognitive assessments, GYN screening, assistance with developmental issues and to maximize coping skills, group educational and support activities.

Our team provides comprehensive HIV specialty care and supportive services to:

  • HIV-exposed infants
  • Infants with HIV
  • Children with HIV
  • Adolescents with HIV
  • Pregnant adolescents with HIV

Services include:

  • HIV disease management
  • Clinical care coordination
  • Medication adherence support
  • Mental health assessments and counseling
  • Psychiatric services
  • Neuropsychological testing
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Case management
  • Skills development and support to transition adolescents to adult care
  • Education and car coordination for pregnant women with HIV to reduce perinatal transmission
  • Educational programs
  • Child life support services
