Our Experts


Our experts are certified professionals who are trained to help children and their families during healthcare interventions. Child Life Specialists at Albany Med support growth and development while providing developmental, educational and therapeutic coping methods in order to facilitate less emotional stress and more effective coping for children and families. We feel it is important to provide children and their families with a better understanding of hospitalization to assist with overall adjustment. Our specialists collaborate with doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and social workers to ensure the best possible experience and to promote a speedy recovery for children undergoing surgical procedures.
