Our Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Staff

Kerri L. Preston, Physical Therapist II, PT, DPT
Kerri received a doctoral degree in physical therapy from The Sage Colleges in 2010. She has spent over 15 years working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has experience treating patients of all ages with a variety of medical problems. These include orthopedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary conditions. She is currently overseeing the outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program and outpatient physical therapy for AMC employees located at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

Dr. Preston is an adjunct instructor at The Sage Colleges teaching cardiopulmonary physical therapy techniques. She has given lectures on the role of physical therapy in treating wounds, arthritis, and diabetes as well as the benefits of exercise and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. She has given guest lectures in the community on a variety of topics including cardiac health and wellness, the benefits of exercise and massage, as well as joint anatomy and function to elementary children. Through Albany Med’s STEPS program for Albany high school students and The Boy Scouts of America, Dr. Preston has had the opportunity to hosts discussions on the benefits of a higher education and to promote the profession of physical therapy.

Kerri joined the Albany Med in 2004 and uses her diverse experience to give effective, fun, and restorative care to all her patients. She is enthusiastic and enjoys sharing her knowledge with patients, staff, community members and students alike.


Cyndi Borcsok, RN
Cyndi Borcsok, RN received her associate’s degree in nursing from Hudson Valley Community College in 1990. She has been working at Albany Medical Center since then. Early in her nursing career she worked on the inpatient trauma and general surgery services and later moved to cardiac and pulmonary medical and surgical services. She has experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiovascular patients, as well as general medical-surgical patients. Cyndi is certified in telemetry, and advanced cardiac life support.

Patient care is very important to Cyndi, and while still employed at Albany Med, she also worked for Favorite Healthcare Staffing, Inc., a contract agency nursing. Through Favorite she was assigned to various local hospitals and nursing care facilities working at all levels of patient care from acute to long term care and even Hospice care. She recently expanded her nursing knowledge to include conscious sedation for pediatric patients during hearing testing in association with the Audiologists in the Hearing Center at Albany Med.

Cyndi is currently overseeing the nursing portions of the outpatient cardiac rehabilitation and non-invasive cardiology. Her responsibilities in non-invasive cardiology include tilt table and dobutamine stress testing. In cardiac rehab, she promotes heart healthy lifestyles and caters to the educational needs of individuals with various heart conditions as well as monitoring the patient during exercise. She enthusiastically promotes exercise and her patients appreciate her straightforward approach to living a healthy lifestyle.
