Dr. Roth, the immediate past president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, appeared on the nationally syndicated Katie Couric show on Thursday, January 31. The show titled “Dying to be Beautiful” focused on what happens when “beauty bargains” in plastic surgery go wrong.
“We’re hearing more and more about deaths when non-physicians are doing injections, and patients just aren’t informed,” said Dr. Roth in a September 2012 article published by ABCNews.com.

The show included stories of women who endured severe consequences after plastic surgery done by non-qualified individuals. In addition to discussing those hazards, Dr. Roth also provided advice on what a prospective patient should be looking for when seeking elective surgery or non-surgical cosmetic procedures, a topic he also wrote about in this blog post.
