The American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA) Information and Referral Center of Albany Medical Center

American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA)
A national organization created to promote a better quality of life for the Parkinson's disease community. The Albany Medical Center referral center is funded through the national APDA by donations.  

The goal of the APDA is, "To ease the burden and find the cure" for Parkinson's disease through research, education and family support. Available educational materials include manuals dealing with symptoms, medication, exercise and diet are provided. Quarterly newsletters which focus on the latest developments in treatment and research. A small video library is also available for loan.

Staff are on site who can provide education, counseling and referrals. The center also functions to increase awareness of the incidence of Parkinson's disease in the community.
