Telemedicine Education

We offer telemedicine-based clinical education for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (NYSDOCCS). Due to the geographic isolation of most NYS correctional facilities, telemedicine is an effective modality to reach correctional clinicians with the most up-to-date HIV treatment information. This technology also allows clinicians throughout the state to directly communicate and interact with our HIV specialists to structure individualized treatment plans for their patients.

Albany Med implements four case-based, accredited HIV telemedicine series for prescribers, nurses, pharmacists and dentists.  HIV education topics are prioritized in response to our annual statewide needs assessment.

Some programs include:

  • HIV Case Conferencing
  • HIV and Hepatitis C Co-infection
  • Antiretoviral Therapy (ART) Updates
  • Drug-Drug Interactions
  • ART Adherence
  • ART Sequencing
  • Medication Errors
  • HIV Oral Lesions
