Minda Dwyer, M.S.N., A.N.P.
Minda received her nursing training at Cornell-University New York Hospital in 1978. After 18 years as a visiting nurse in Harlem and in various communities in the Boston area, she returned to school for her Masters' degree at Northeastern University. She graduated as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care in 1996. She then worked as a care provider at the Coxsackie Correctional Regional Medical Unit for 2 years before coming to Albany Medical College in 1999.
Minda completed a two year clinical fellowship through the NYS Department of Health's AIDS Institute. She worked closely with the HIV attending physicians, provided direct patient care, and conducted research.
She recently published an article on HIV/HCV co-infection for Clinical Excellence, an international journal for nurse practitioners. She is also a contributing author for a book on HIV-related complications for nurses.
Minda is currently a Clinical Research Administrator in the HIV Clinical Research Program in which she assists in the coordination and implementation of clinical studies. In addition, she continues to provide primary HIV care and lectures extensively to various community organizations and nursing schools on HIV-related topics.
She is president of the Capitol District chapter of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC).
