HIV Mini-Residencies: Albany Medical Center- Albany

Albany Medical Center- Albany: Trains physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners

PROGRAM OPTIONS: 2-5 Day Mini-Residencies (program length tailored to your availability) or 1 Month Clinical Fellowships
 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The HIV Mini-Residency is funded by the New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center (NY/NJ AETC) through the Health Resources and Services Administration.  The Clinical Fellowship in HIV Medicine is sponsored by Albany Medical Center's AIDS Program (AMCAP) in partnership with the New York State Department of Correctional Services.
 

TRAVEL: Transportation, lodging and a food stipend may be available. The Mini-Residency Coordinator will discuss travel needs with the applicant upon his/her acceptance.
 

MODULES:

  • Didactic Module (4-6 hours)
    • Adherence
    • Antiretroviral Therapy
    • Early Identification of HIV Infection
    • Guidelines for Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Following Sexual Assault & Occupational Exposure
    • Hepatitis C
    • HIV & Mental Health
    • Long-term Complications of HIV
    • Resistance Testing
    • Virology
    • Women & HIV
    • Other HIV topics available based on training needs
  • Clinical Module (20-24 hours)
    • AIDS Program inpatient and outpatient clinics
    • Coxsackie Correctional Specialty Clinic (if applicable) 

ACCREDITATION: The Albany Medical College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Albany Medical College designates this educational activity for maximum of 35 category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.
