Clinical Education

Grant-supported HIV clinical education programs are offered throughout the Upstate 47 county region to educate physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinical pharmacists, dentists, and dental hygienists on the latest HIV treatment strategies.

  • Educational programs, ranging from one to four hours, are provided in the following formats:
    • lectures
    • case conferences/discussions
    • chart reviews
    • preceptorships
    • satellite videoconferences
       
  • On-site programs are offered at various locations including:
    • chronic care facilities
    • community health centers
    • community hospitals
    • county jails
    • juvenile detention centers
    • managed care organizations
    • NYS Department of Correctional Services
    • primary care programs
    • substance use treatment programs
  • Telemedicine is also available and can be used to provide education at your site.
