Media Policies
Albany Medical Center welcomes the opportunity to work with the media. For information or to schedule an interview with an Albany Med employee, please call the Public Relations office at 518-262-3421 during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A public relations officer is on call nights and weekends and can be reached by contacting the Medical Center page operator at 518-262-3111.
Media Guidelines
- Because the care of patients must always remain our primary responsibility, including maintaining a patient's right to privacy and confidentiality if that is what he or she desires, the Albany Medical Center requires all representations of the media to coordinate interview and photography requests ahead of time by contacting public relations. After the request is received, a PR officer will quickly determine whether an interview is possible and, if it is, will coordinate the arrangements, including meeting and accompanying the media representative during his or her visit.
- No photos or video of patients may be taken without a PR officer first securing written permission from the patient.
- The Albany Medical Center follows the American Hospital Association guidelines regarding patient privacy issues contained in the Health Insurance and Portability Act (HIPAA).
