Albany Medical Center Welcomes Plastic Surgeon Dr. Stéphane Braün
ALBANY, N.Y., November 16, 2007 - Stéphane Braün, M.D., a plastic surgeon, has joined the staff of the Albany Medical Center and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery and director of the plastic surgery residency program at Albany Medical College. Dr. Braün’s surgical interests include pediatric plastic surgery, including correction of cleft lip/palate; breast surgery and reconstruction, as well as aesthetic surgery. He also specializes in pediatric/adult microvascular reconstructive surgery; maxillofacial trauma; hand and upper extremity surgery; and post-weight loss body contouring.
A native of Canada, Dr. Braün received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa.
He completed plastic surgery residencies at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn., and the University of Toronto, and completed a general surgery residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He recently served as assistant professor in the department of plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Braün’s research experience includes a fellowship at the Yale Hand and Comprehensive Microsurgery Center, and a graduate diploma in clinical epidemiology research from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in plastic surgery and general surgery.
