Albany Med EmUrgentCare Celebrates Completion of Glenville Location

Glenville, N.Y., July 24, 2014 – Officials from Albany Medical Center, Schenectady County and the town of Glenville were on hand Thursday morning to celebrate the completion and soon-to-be grand opening of Albany Med EmUrgentCare, a walk-in medical facility located in Socha Plaza’s new-mixed use building in Glenville.

Albany Med EmUrgentCare, which will officially open its doors for patients Friday, August 1, will be Albany Med EmUrgentCare’s third location in the Greater Capital Region.

“Our newest Albany Med EmUrgentCare site is an ideal location for patients to receive quick, professional care for both urgent and non-urgent medical conditions,” said Ferdinand Venditti, M.D., vice dean for clinical affairs at Albany Medical Center and head of the Albany Med Faculty Physicians group. “We are grateful to the town of Glenville for welcoming us and look forward to providing our new neighbors with the high-quality, personalized and compassionate care that Albany Med is known for.”

The 4,000-square-foot Albany Med EmUrgentCare facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the year, and providers will be able to treat sprains and fractures, cuts and lacerations, colds/flu, ear/throat infections, asthma, tick and other insect bites, rashes and any other seasonal ailments or injures. This newest facility will also provide occupational medicine services for local employers.

“Our team provides a unique level and approach to care,” said Stephen Hassett, M.D., chief of Albany Med’s Division of Urgent Care and Community Outreach. “All of our providers are expertly trained in emergency medicine and we excel at getting patients in, treated, and back on with their day. The average time for a visit at an AMC EmUrgentCare facility is less than 30 minutes.”

Albany Med EmUrgentCare is located on the first floor of Socha Plaza’s New-Mixed Use Building, a three-level, 60,000-square-foot, building located on Route 50 across from the Schenectady County Airport. Socha Plaza’s New-Mixed Use Building is owned by Socha Management.
