Department of Surgery Welcomes Dr. Sharon Samuels.
ALBANY, N.Y., April 15, 2008—Sharon Samuels, M.D., has returned to the department of surgery at Albany Medical Center and has been appointed assistant professor of surgery. Dr. Samuels has provided care to patients in the Capital Region for more than 14 years, having previously been a member of Community Care Physicians, P.C., in Latham, and prior to that, as assistant professor of surgery at Albany Medical College and co-director of the surgical intensive care unit at Albany Medical Center
Dr. Samuels has special interest in general, breast, and trauma surgery and also specializes in surgical critical care.
She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland, and completed general surgery residencies at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and University of Massachusetts Medical Center. In addition, she completed a surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Connecticut. She is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Samuels and her family reside in Albany.
