Donate Life Registry Drive to be Held in April
The Center for Donation & Transplant (CDT) will host a registry drive to raise awareness of the five ways individuals can donate life to others from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 1 in Albany Medical Center’s Choices Cafe. Information will be available on organ, eye, tissue, bone marrow and blood donation.
In honor of Donate Life Month (April), CDT hopes to enroll 250 individuals on the New York State Organ Donor Registry, and swab the cheeks of 250 individuals for the National Bone Marrow Registry.
There are more than 117,000 people waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant in the United States, and nearly 10 percent of those waiting live in New York State. Parking passes will be provided.
