Albany Med Faculty Physicians Nursing Opportunities


The Albany Med Faculty Physicians group is comprised of over 300 providers who deliver phenomenal care to patients as a collaborative team. The nurses in leadership positions are one of the most important assets of our team. Nursing leadership positions of the Albany Med Faculty Physicians includes:


RN-Ambulatory

Under the Supervision of the Lead Nurse or Nursing Supervisor and Nurse Manager, the Ambulatory nurse provides nursing support to primary and subspecialty providers.

This is demonstrated by the use of the nursing process to work collaboratively with the health-care team in planning, directing, providing and evaluating patient care. 

The Ambulatory nurse is defined within the department to provide patient care, triage, consultation and referral among team members.


RN-Nurse     Supervisor       

Under the Supervision of the Practice Administrator, Nurse Administrator and Nurse Manager, the Nurse Supervisor maintains and organizes the division for which he/she is responsible. 

He/she works collaboratively with physicians and administrative staff to provide continuity of care and access of care to the clinical care setting. 

The Nurse Supervisor assures regulatory compliance, provides education to the staff, patients and families, and acts as a liaison between clinical and administrative staff.


LPN

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works within the framework of patient care under the supervision of provider, registered nurse or clinical care coordinator.

The LPN will provide direct patient care, including patient check in, medication administration, phlebotomy, prescription call ins and unit specific treatments. He/she will participate in patient education as needed. He/she will participate in and support quality improvement initiatives as well as assisting with orientation of new staff.

The LPN position will provide nursing support to all providers in the a clinical setting. This is demonstrated by collaboratively working with the health care team by providing patient information that impacts the planning, directing, providing and evaluating patient care.

The LPN is to deliver patient care under the direction of a Provider or Registered Nurse within the realm of the New York State Practice Act.
