11th Annual Upstate New York Immunology Conference 2008
The 11th Annual Upstate New York Immunology Conference (NYIC) will be held October 19-22, 2008 at The Sagamore Resort and Conference Center on the shores of Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York. The meeting will begin with dinner on Sunday, October 19th and conclude following lunch on Wednesday, October 22nd. The Sagamore is about 80 miles north of Albany.
The 2008 Keynote Speakers are Kenneth L. Rock, M.D., Professor and Chairman, Department of Pathology (University of Massachusetts Medical School) and Greg Lemke, Ph.D., Molecular Neurobiology Laboratory (The Salk Institute). Dr. Rock’s laboratory investigates the mechanisms which control the display of foreign antigens to the immune system and more generally the process of immune surveillance. Dr. Lemke’s laboratory is currently focusing research on the signal transduction molecules that mediate cellular interactions during development of the mammalian nervous and immune system.
This year's meeting will feature two keynote presentations, selected oral poster presentations, two poster sessions, a vendor fair mixer and a cruise aboard The Sagamore’s own cruise ship, The Morgan.
The major goal of this meeting is to foster collaborations and interactions among participants and their institutions, as well as provide opportunities for postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to present their research. Postdoctoral fellows and graduate students are encouraged to submit poster abstracts and request consideration by the NYIC Scientific Advisory Board to give an oral presentation. Electronic submission is required for all abstracts. (See Poster and Abstract Guidelines for additional information and submission.)
Electronic registration is required for all participants. Register early to secure your accommodations as there is a limited number of rooms available. The registration fee includes three nights lodging, all meals and Conference materials. Registration closes 5:00 p.m. on September 1, 2008.
