1. How do I leave a gift to the hospital or college in my will?
Sample bequest language is available to donors and their attorneys. The Albany Medical Center’s Foundation office is happy to help craft bequest language that will accurately reflect the donor’s wishes.

2. Does Albany Medical Center offer charitable gift annuities?
Yes, Albany Medical Center has a well-established charitable gift annuity program and the Albany Medical Center’s Foundation office can provide personalized calculations to illustrate the benefits of establishing a charitable gift annuity. For initial calculations please visit the Gift Calculator. If you are interested in receiving a personal illustration, download the CGA Illustration Request Form - Single Life or CGA Illustration Request Form - Two Life.

3. Can I make a gift to Albany Med that will provide me with an income for life?
Yes, Albany Medical Center offers several different types of life income gifts that provide donors with a stream of income and various tax benefits. Please visit the Life Income page for details on each type or contact the Albany Medical Center Foundation office to determine which will best suit your needs.

4. How do I make a gift from my retirement plan?
You can make a gift from your retirement plan by including the Albany Medical Center Hospital as full or partial beneficiary. This usually requires that the donor complete a form from the plan manager and submit it to the company that holds the assets. Retirement plan assets are often subject to extremely high estate taxes and income is fully taxable when received by an individual beneficiary, so making a charitable gift may be a better use of these assets.

5. How do I make a gift of life insurance?
There are several ways to make a gift of life insurance. Please visit Gifts of Life Insurance to learn more.

6. How do I become a member of the Pillars Society?
The Pillars Society is pleased to welcome donors who make a life income gift, or name Albany Medical Center in their estate plan. Members receive invitations to events and special mailings throughout the year.
