Albany Medical Center Foundation

Our Donor Stories

Donna M. Crandall Memorial Foundation

The Loudonville-based Donna M. Crandall Foundation was established in 2000 in memory of Scotia's Donna Crandall, who lost a 41 year battle with cystic fibrosis (CF) that same year. In her honor, the Foundation has raised nearly $2 million to help support thousands of Albany Medical Center patients living with CF.

Comprised of Ms. Crandall’s family and friends, the Foundation has given more than 1,000 gift bags to CF patients, each designed to make each patient’s hospital stay a little easier. It has coordinated hotel stays for families of out-of-town patients and provided financial assistance to CF patients in need.

Most recently, the Foundation completed the renovation of a patient room at Albany Med, with its colors, amenities and design all coming together to create a tranquil place of respite for CF patients.

Throughout her battle with CF, Ms. Crandall always looked for ways to help CF patients in need. In her memory, the Foundation does just that.
