Resources for Interested Applicants
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for entry to the Master of Science, Doctorate of Professional Studies, and Virtual Fellowship programs. Students can enter the program at any of our four terms, although the largest entering class is typically each fall. Graduate Certificate students are accepted only for the fall term each year.
Applicants are required to submit an online application consisting of the following:
1. Basic demographic, academic history, and current employment information.
2. An essay (statement of purpose) expressing your interest in bioethics training.
3. Official transcripts from all institutions where a degree was conferred.
4. Two letters of recommendation.
Please send transcripts and letters of recommendation to:
Coordinator for Graduate Studies
Alden March Bioethics Institute
47 New Scotland Avenue, MC 153
Albany, NY 12208
Admission to the program will be based on academic achievement, personal and professional goals, and intellectual promise.
Letters of recommendation can be emailed directly to the program at email@example.com, faxed to (518) 262-6856, or mailed to the address above. References may write their own letter or they may use this recommendation template.
Graduate entrance exam scores [GRE] are required only for prospective students without a terminal degree (eg. JD, MD, MSW, PhD). Applicants with undergraduate degrees and significant work experience are considered on a case by case basis for a GRE waiver. Applicants coming directly out of undergraduate school are expected to take the GRE. Other graduate or professional exams, such as the MCAT or LSAT, can be substituted for the GRE.
Dual degree students must be accepted independently to their professional degree program as well as the Master of Science in Bioethics Program.
Students admitted to any of the Bioethics programs will be asked to provide a $100 non-refundable deposit within 30 days of their acceptance to the program.
