Alden March Bioethics Institute offers graduate programs which provide education and training opportunities preparing professionals to address the important ethical issues of the day. We offer curricula leading to Graduate Certificates, Master of Science in Bioethics, and Doctor of Professional Studies in Bioethics. Our programs provide comprehensive bioethical education as well as specialized training for both clinical ethics consultation and health ethics and policy. Bioethical issues are being discussed every day not only in health care institutions, but in the media and government. Over the last few decades, bioethics has reached such prominence that having a skill set and a basic knowledge of bioethical issues, methodologies, and cases is essential for many people working in medicine, biotechnology, law, public health, and public policy.
Our bioethics programs provide training for physicians, attorneys, scientists, social workers, nurses, case managers, clergy, journalists, and others to bring a special and desirable knowledge and skill set back to their current workplaces, to new careers, or as a supplement to other professional degrees. Students who earn a graduate certificates and degrees go on to chair hospital ethics committees, become members of institutional review boards, serve as advisors to corporations, provide clinical ethics consultations, write scholarly articles in bioethics publications, and much more. These degrees provide you with the tools you will need to have expertise in bioethics wherever you live, whatever you do, and whatever your professional goals may be.
