As of October 1, 2014, all visiting student elective applications are closed for the 2014-2015 academic year. The Office of Student Records is not accepting or processing new visiting student applications at this time. We will re-open visiting student elective applications on March 1, 2015 for the upcoming 2015-2016 academic year.
Beginning with the 2014- 2015 academic year Albany Medical College will only be accepting students who are eligible to apply through VSAS.

AMC invites current fourth year medical students in good academic standing to participate in this competitive and reputable program. AMC offers over 50 visiting student elective spots per year to medical students from a variety of institutions across the country. Applications must be submitted no later than 60 days prior to the start date of the requested elective period. For details on our specific elective requirements please contact the Visiting Student Coordinator.
All Applications must be completed and submitted through VSAS.
A student is not considered approved for an elective until they receive written confirmation from the Office of Student Records.

Each visiting student may participate in a maximum of two electives at AMC, with each elective lasting no more than four weeks. All elective dates requested must correspond with AMC’s elective periods, which can be found by clicking here.
Lastly, room, board and meals are the responsibility of the visiting student and are not provided by AMC.
After your application has been accepted, students can request schedule changes. All requests need to be submitted directly to the Visiting Student Coordinator. Requests are processed and reviewed by the specific departments on a case-by-case basis.
