Morning Interview
Dear Applicant:
We are most pleased that you will be coming for an interview at the Albany Psychology Internship Consortium. We look forward to meeting you in person and having you get to see some of our program. We hope the following information will be helpful to you in planning your visit with us.
First of all, you will be coming to the Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) and will be meeting with me, the Director of Training, at 9:00 a.m. There will be some introductory remarks, and then your three interviews will begin at 9:15 a.m. As you may remember, we are inviting you for lunch at noon to talk with the current internship class about their experiences this year. If all goes well, you will have had a complete experience and be ready to be on your way by 12:30 or 1:00 p.m. Of course some of you more tightly-scheduled people may not be able to stay for lunch, and we understand this completely.
We are providing here a map of the general Albany area that shows where the CDPC is as well as the VA and the Albany Medical College (AMC). The map should help you if you are driving, as Albany is a small ("yet lovely") city and relatively easy to navigate. There is a parking garage at the CDPC if you come by car. Any cab or limousine service will know how to reach the CDPC.
There is also a second map to show you exactly where to go when you come in the main entrance of the CDPC. You will be going to the AMC Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic (518-447-9665). It is a different entrance than the main entrance to the CDPC as you can see on the map, and it is clearly marked. Come through the entrance and tell the secretary you are there for your internship interviews, and we shall take it from there.
We have also included here a list of moderately priced motels in the Albany area that are relatively close to the interview sites. We hope this will help you find reasonably-priced accommodations. Simply identify yourself as an Albany Medical College intern applicant, and you will get the preferential rate.
Good luck with your travels. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
John R. Thibodeau, Ph.D., ABPP, FPPR
Director
