Resident Education
Conference
- Residents provided with excellent opportunities for learning in both case presentation and didactic format for approximately 8 hours per week
- Conferences scheduled daily from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m.
- Occasional "Teaching Afternoons" center on a theme with presentations from other specialties
- Presenters from outside Albany Medical Center also invited for "Grand Rounds"
- Resident teaching encouraged during assigned Resident Presentation Conferences
AFIP
Each third year resident attends the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Washington, D.C. Registration and housing stipend for this four-week course is paid by the department.
REVIEW COURSES
Prior to American Board of Radiology Physics Examination, each resident attends a physics review course, registration fee and housing stipend paid by the department.
In addition, a series of in-hourse Physics lectures is presented annually in the spring and early sumer by Arthur Olson, M.S., Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Radiation Physics Laboratory at SUNY Health Science Center, Brooklyn.
Prior to the American Board of Radiology Oral Board Examination, each fourth year resident is sent to a radiology review course, registration fee and housing stipend paid.
