Library Resources
The Radiology library is a rich source of information physically separate from the main AMC library. It is located where the radiology residents work and the resources are targeted to meet their academic needs. There are over 1000 volumes, major Radiology periodicals, and a rich selection of CD ROMS, including the complete ACR Teaching File on CD ROM and ACR On-line Lecture Series for both Cardiac Imaging and OB Ultrasound. Four networked computers provide on-line capabilities. The facility is available 24 hours a day. Computer capabilities include four dedicated PCs for resident use. Digital imaging has been incorporated into the department and a digitized teaching file is being built jointly by residents and faculty.
Research
The Albany Medical Center Radiology Department has a long history of biomedical and clinical research. The residents are strongly encouraged to participate as active members of investigative teams. Financial support is provided for those who are selected to present their research at national conferences, including the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the Association of University Radiologists (AUR), the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), the Society for Vascular and Interventional Radiology (SCVIR), and Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM)
Publications have been authored in most disciplines with a strong representation in body imaging, vascular and interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine.
