Clinical Experience

During the course of a year, approximately 5,000 surgical cases are scheduled by members of the faculty. They are staffed by residents on the basis of educational impact. The broad variety of cases seen in a typical year encompasses all areas of the field of plastic surgery.

Specific faculty members provide expertise in microsurgery and replantation, hand surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, craniomaxillofacial surgery, cosmetic surgery, and surgery for congenital anomalies such as, cleft lip and palate and congenital hand deformities. In addition, the Division of Plastic Surgery supervises the initial wound care and reconstructive management of patients in Albany Medical Center, a tertiary care center.
