Call Frequency

• Night Float: Sunday -Thursday 8pm - 8am (floors and NICU)
• Floors: Every second night until 8pm
• Rotating Floor Short Call: 5:00pm to 8:00pm weekdays
• Overnight if call falls on Fri/Sat
• PICU: Every 3-4 night overnight
• NICU: Rotating short call 4pm to 8pm weekdays

Weekend call for interns includes:

• two Fridays and two Saturdays per month

Elective PL-3: 5 to 7 days per month

• Transport call: taken from home with beeper
• Sick call: must be available to cover in event of emergency. Only while on electives, average 4 times per month

Elective PL-2: NICU: 2 to 3 weekend calls per month

• Sick call: must be available to cover if a resident gets sick. In event of an emergency. Only while on electives.

Elective PL-1: Outpatient ambulatory clinic 5 to 7pm, 2 to 4 times per month

• Sick call: must be available to cover if an intern gets sick. In event of emergency

ER:

• Intern: 12 hour shifts
• Resident: 8 to 10 hour shifts
