Resident Conference Schedule
Designed to cover the core material that is pertinent to an emergency medicine resident during training. Although not geared toward pre-hospital providers, information is relevant to general patient care and may be useful to this group. REMO continuing education credits may be available for certain programs. Email us at

Descriptions of recurring programs are as follows:
- Trauma Conference: A one-hour multidisciplinary conference on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Selected trauma cases seen in the AMC ED are presented and their care discussed. Pre-hospital providers are encouraged to discuss patients they cared for in the field. Often quite useful for pre-hospital providers.
- Board Review: A review of previously distributed questions regarding topics in emergency medicine. Used by emergency medicine residents to prepare for the board certification exam. To participate, call (518) 262-3773 and request a copy of the questions well.
- Core Content: A presentation by an emergency medicine resident focused on an assigned topic and reading from an Emergency Medicine textbook. (Emergency Medicine by Tintinalli). Pre-hospital providers interested in participating should find a copy of the textbook and read the assigned pages before the scheduled presentation. - Week in Review: Case presentations by emergency medicine residents of interesting cases from the week. The presentation, management and outcome of patients is discussed as well as the salient points of the recognition and management of the condition. Potentially useful to pre-hospital providers.
- Steering: A closed meeting for emergency medicine residents and residency staff. Not open to pre-hospital providers.
- M&M Conference: Closed to non-emergency department staff.
- Lecture Series: Provided by physicians, nurses and other medical professionals regarding varied topics in emergency medicine. Pre-hospital providers are encouraged to attend lectures relevant to pre-hospital care.
