Advanced Facilities
Albany Medical Center recently completed a $166 million facility development program, resulting in one of the most technologically advanced tertiary care facilities in the nation. The Physicians Pavilion at Albany Med, a 45,000-square-foot addition to the west side of its New Scotland Avenue campus houses the broadest range of medical and surgical specialists in northeastern New York, allowing patients seeking medical exams, tests and ancillary services to receive care in one convenient, modern location, while enabling the institution to expand its number of operational beds by at least 22. There has been recent expansion of the Emergency Department, surgical suites, and radiation therapy center. We have the Albany Med Flight Air Medical Service, the only one of its kind in the area, providing the highest level of critical care and rapid transport for eastern New York, western Massachusetts, western Connecticut, and southwestern Vermont.

A $360 million expansion project has come online and includes a new 6 story complex with an additional 20 operating rooms. $42 million will support the Institute for Biomedical Education and Research, which is intended to increase scientific productivity, create additional research opportunities and enhance the rapidly growing biotech industry throughout the region. In addition, a Hilton Garden Inn is available across the street from the hospital which will serve patients and their families, as well as accommodate visiting professors and prospective students and residents. With all necessary equipment located right on campus, our program offers the most up-to-date learning experience available.
