Department of Plastic Surgery
Plastic Surgery Residency Program

Albany Medical Center
- The Plastic Surgery Residency has a strong didactic program combined with a broad surgical experience leading to admission to the certification process of the American Board of Plastic Surgery
- Residents are in daily contact with the full-time faculty with advanced training and extensive experience in all phases of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery including post-bariatric body contouring surgery, breast surgery, hand surgery and pediatric plastic surgery.
- Plastic surgery residents are consulted in their career development on almost a daily basis. If they wish further post-residency fellowship training, the broad personal contacts of the faculty facilitate the most favorable positions.
- Four full-time faculty and two part-time faculty provide daily contact with the plastic surgery residents during the requisite training years. Members of the full-time general surgery faculty, the Orthopedic, Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery Divisions provide additional prerequisite resident education.
- The Division has a residency coordinator, an administrative coordinator, and two full time nursing personnel, which provide sufficient support for resident needs.
- The Plastic Surgery Division enjoys and encourages a close camaraderie amongst themselves and the residents. This pervasive attitude is transmitted to the resident staff at all levels.
