at Albany Medical Center
As a 651-bed (and expanding) teaching hospital and medical college with biomedical research facilities, our mission is to care for patients of all ages with a broad range of health conditions. Albany Medical Center serves more than three million people in 25-counties of Eastern New York and Western New England. Albany Medical Center is the only teaching hospital linked to a medical school in New York’s Capital Region and the hospital of choice for over 34,000 admitted patients each year. Patients rely on us for unique programs including a Level-I Trauma Center, an accredited stroke center, a 125 bed children’s hospital- within a hospital, and the region’s most sophisticated Emergency Department. Albany Medical Center is affiliated with the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, serving as a major experiential teaching site for ACPHS students and practice site for faculty. Please explore the www.amc.edu web site to find out more about AMC.
The highly automated Department of Pharmacy has a staff of over 100 FTE pharmacists, technicians and support personnel. Residency preceptors are highly experienced pharmacists from the AMC staff or the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences faculty practicing at AMC facilities. Please see our preceptors page for more information about our faculty.
