Application Process

Applicants interested in the otolaryngology training program are required to submit an application using the ERAS residency application system. The deadline for applications is October 31. The program is very competitive. We usually receive over 150 applications for the two available positions in each application cycle.  We recommend that you submit your NBME Board Scores, medical school transcript, and at least three letters of  recommendation.  We will only accept applications with above 200 on USMLE Step 1. J-1 is the only Visa Albany Medical Center can accept. We will contact applicants that we are interested in interviewing via email.  Thank you for your interest in our program. 

All applications to this program are to be submitted through ERAS. To apply for this program through ERAS you will be required to submit the following materials:

  • Photograph (preferred but not required)
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • USMLE Steps I and II
  • Medical School Transcript and Diploma/Certificate
  • Dean's Letter
  • 3 Current Letters of Recommendation
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
