Program Director

Here at Albany Medical Center Hospital we offer a 5-year Residency Program in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery. The first year includes an experience in general surgery with mandated rotations within the fields of anesthesiology, neurosurgery, surgical intensive care as well as emergency medicine. Additionally, during the first year of your residency, you will spend significant time at didactic conferences throughout the entire year. The subsequent years are fully integrated within the residency program and the clinical experience involves our area hospitals as well as our outpatient facilities. We are most proud of our very active full time faculty who represent all subspecialties of Otolaryngology including Pediatric Otolaryngology, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Head & Neck Oncology, Otology, Laryngology & Voice Disorders, Rhinology & Allergy, in addition to General Otolaryngology. Additionally, our unique geographic location allows for an incredible diversity of pathology and high volume of clinical cases. Research is supported throughout each year of residency and is mandated with a research-blocked time in the 3rd year. Our program is most proud of our graduates who are highly skilled surgeons and clinicians, competent in the entire field of Otolaryngology. Our graduates go on to enter very successful careers and often obtain highly sought-after fellowships.
