WELCOME TO OUR MED/PEDS HOME...
The Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at Albany Medical Center was established in 1980 and is one of the oldest in the country. Our thriving suburban primary care practice is unique among the country’s combined residency programs and serves as the training ground for the resident continuity clinic. Our 8 Med/Peds faculty members are very involved in the training program as well as teaching our medical students. Each faculty member plays a very distinctive role in our office and within the institution holding various academic positions.
Our residency program offers a rich variety of educational and professional experiences, environments, and opportunities for its trainees. Our graduates are highly competitive, well trained, and ready for whatever career path they wish to pursue including primary care, hospitalist medicine, or subspecialty training.
Albany Medical College, established in 1839, is one of the oldest medical schools in the country and adds to the rich academic environment. Our residents work on various community outreach projects with our medical students as well as actively participate in teaching during both inpatient and outpatient experiences.
AMC’s hospital is a 651 bed facility and is the major referral center for the 25 counties of southern Vermont, western Massachusetts, and eastern New York. It serves communities from the Canadian border to the suburbs of New York City. As a result, Med/Peds residents have an enormously varied and interesting set of clinical experiences. In the medical center’s inpatient units and outpatient subspecialty clinics, residents encounter children and adults with both common and rare diseases.
