Thank you for your interest in our Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Albany Medical Center Hospital. We are happy to provide you with information about our program. The medical staff at Albany Medical Center is proud of our longstanding tradition of academic excellence. Our Medical College was founded in 1839, and as such is one of the oldest medical colleges in the United States. Our hospital is a regional referral center for a 25-county area with a population of 2.5 million. This is reflected in the breadth of pathology our residents are exposed to during their training.

The goal of the Department of Medicine has always been to prepare our house officers to become well-trained, caring internists.
Our residency program provides an atmosphere, which blends clinical and academic excellence with delivery of patient care. We encourage and assist our residents in attaining their individual goals in medicine and take a personal interest in maximizing each resident's learning experience.
We invite you to contact us for additional information and to visit us here in New York's beautiful Capital Region.
Good luck as you plan this very important phase of your career in medicine.
