Below are just a few of the exceptional individuals who chose Albany Med's GME programs:

Avi Beck, MD - Radiology Residency Program

Avi Beck, MD
Radiology Residency Program

Having completed his training in Radiology, Dr. Beck consistently demonstrated a high level of medical knowledge, excellent patient care, and the ability to work cooperatively and creatively with other residents, faculty, and clinicians throughout the institution.  Functioning as co-chief resident, he shouldered the responsibility of implementing a rotation schedule for 20 residents.  Dr. Beck has also earned the loyalty of his peers and the respect of faculty members with his thoughtful manner and effective approach to clinical and managerial challenges.

Dr. Beck has published several papers including:

  • Siskin G, Beck A, Schuster M, Mandato K, Englander M, Herr A. Fibroid Infarction after Uterine Artery Embolization: A Prospective Randomized Study Comparing Trisacryl Gelatin Microspheres and Polyvinyl Alcohol Microspheres.  Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology.  2008 Jan;19:58-65.
  • Barry G, Khachikian S, Beck A, Belden C, Pearce J, Simon J. Optic Canal Diameter in Infantile Osteopetrosis. Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. In Press.

Dr. Beck received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv Israel.  Planning to pursue an academic career with an emphasis on research, Dr. Beck has accepted a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the National Institute of Health.

Rose M. Domingo, MD - Neurology Residency Program

Rose M. Domingo, MD
Neurology Residency Program

Dr. Domingo recently completed  her second year of residency training in the Department of Neurology.  While expectations were high prior to her arrival at The Albany Medical College she rose to the challenge.  Dr. Domingo's potential was recognized during her first post-graduate year, receiving the “Intern of the Month” award from the Department of Internal Medicine.  She was also selected to serve as Chief Resident in Neurology for the 2008-2009 academic year.

During her internship, Dr. Domingo published several papers including a case report on a 75 year old Male with Weakness and Weight Loss (Albany Medical Review) and has a review on Headache Related to Intracranial Malignancy that will be published in Worst Case Scenario: Case Studies in Emergency Medicine (Jeanmonod R, Burton J, Eds).
When recently confronted with several cases of infantile botulism she recognized a gap in the medical literature on this subject and authored a comprehensive review (Domingo RM, Haller JS, Gruenthal M.  Infant Botulism: Two Recent Cases and Literature Review. Journal of Child Neurology. In Press). For this work she received the House Staff Scholarly Research Prize for 2008.

Dr. Domingo received her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame followed by medical training at The St George’s University.  She will be pursuing specialty training in neuromuscular disease in 2009.
