Avi Beck, MD Now in his fourth year of training in Radiology, Dr. Beck consistently demonstrates a high level of medical knowledge, excellent patient care, and the ability to work cooperatively and creatively with other residents, faculty, and clinicians throughout the institution. Functioning as Co-Chief Resident, he shoulders the responsibility for implementing a rotation schedule for 20 residents. Dr. Beck has also earned the loyalty of his peers and the respect of faculty members with his thoughtful manner and effective approach to clinical and managerial challenges. Dr. Beck has published several papers including:
Dr. Beck received his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv Israel. Planning to pursue an academic career with an emphasis on research, Dr. Beck has accepted a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the National Institute of Health. |

Rose M. Domingo, MD Dr. Domingo is currently completing her second year of residency training in the Department of Neurology. While expectations were high prior to her arrival at The Albany Medical College she has risen to the challenge. Dr. Domingo's potential was recognized during her first post-graduate year ,receiving the “Intern of the Month” award from the Department of Internal Medicine. She has also been selected to serve as Chief Resident in Neurology for the 2008-2009 academic year. During her internship, Dr. Domingo published several papers including a case report on a 75 year old Male with Weakness and Weight Loss (Albany Medical Review) and has a review on Headache Related to Intracranial Malignancy that will be published in Worst Case Scenario: Case Studies in Emergency Medicine (Jeanmonod R, Burton J, Eds). Dr. Domingo received her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame followed by medical training at The St George’s University. She will be pursuing specialty training in neuromuscular disease in 2009. |

Fassil Mesfin, MD, PhD Now in his second year of neurosurgical training, Dr. Mesfin spent most of his childhood in Ethiopia before moving with his family to the United States. From an early age, he maintained a keen and active interest in research and received many awards throughout his academic career, including:
After receiving his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Albany Med., Dr. Mesfin entered Albany Medical College with an eye toward a career in neurosurgery in the hope of discovering new treatments for brain tumors. Fassil still is active in research and was just awarded one of two RUNN Resident Research Award from the Society of Neurological Surgeons. |
